Terms of service
Last updated: 4 October 2026
These terms cover the Bloctric website, software, and related services. Bloctric is a trading name used by its operator in Scotland. References to “we,” “us,” and “our” mean that operator. Contact us at [email protected].
The Free service and Pro subscriptions are available. Cloud subscriptions are planned. An advertised future feature is not a commitment to supply it by a particular date.
Using Bloctric
Please read these terms before using Bloctric. They form part of your agreement with us when you accept them to use the service or make a purchase. If you act for an organisation, you must have authority to agree on its behalf. A consumer is an individual acting wholly or mainly outside their trade, business, craft, or profession. Other customers are business customers.
You must have the legal capacity to enter the agreement. Where you do not, a parent, guardian, or authorised organisation must arrange and supervise your use. Purchasers of paid services must be at least 18.
Your applicable plan description and order confirmation form part of any paid agreement. The Refund policy explains cancellation and refunds. The Privacy notice explains personal data use; accepting these terms does not amount to consent to optional data processing.
What Bloctric provides
Bloctric supports modelling, simulation, and code generation. Features, limits, supported formats, compatibility, and technical requirements depend on the version and plan described when you use or purchase it. We will supply paid services with reasonable care and skill and meet applicable legal requirements for digital content.
Models, examples, simulation results, and generated code can contain errors or rely on assumptions that do not match real equipment. You are responsible for checking inputs, numerical accuracy, outputs, suitability, and applicable engineering requirements before relying on them. References to a standard, protocol, or type of equipment do not certify a design or installation as compliant.
Bloctric does not replace qualified engineering judgement, independent testing, or safety assessment. Do not use it as the sole basis for operating safety-critical equipment or making decisions where an error could cause injury, death, or serious environmental or property damage. Any real-world deployment requires appropriate validation and safeguards. These responsibilities do not remove our duties or your rights under law.
Your licence and our intellectual property
We grant you a non-exclusive licence to use the features available under your plan for your own personal or internal business purposes, subject to these terms and any stated device or user limits. You may not sell, sublicense, or provide access to the Bloctric software or hosted service to others unless your plan or a separate agreement permits it. An organisation may authorise its users within its purchased entitlement.
Pro includes paid features on one licensed desktop device and in browsers where you sign in. Browser sessions do not use a device slot. Initial desktop activation and licence renewal require an internet connection. Paid features remain available offline until the saved licence expires.
We and our licensors retain rights in Bloctric, its branding, software, and supplied materials. Except where applicable law or a separate licence permits it, you must not copy or redistribute the software, remove proprietary notices, bypass access or plan restrictions, or reverse engineer its proprietary components. This does not restrict non-excludable rights concerning interoperability, observation, study, testing, or other legally permitted activities.
Third-party and open-source components remain subject to their own licences. If a component licence grants rights beyond these terms, that licence governs that component.
Your models and generated code
You retain the rights you already hold in your models, input files, and other content. You must have permission to use that content and to send it to us when requesting an online feature. You give us only the permission needed to process it and return the requested result, using our service providers where necessary. This does not give us a right to publish your private models or use them to train AI models.
You may use, modify, compile, and distribute code generated for you, including in commercial products, without an additional royalty to Bloctric. To the extent that the output contains code owned by us, we grant you a worldwide, perpetual, non-exclusive licence to do so, including distributing it as part of your products. This permission survives the end of your subscription. It does not grant rights in third-party materials or remove any applicable licence notices or obligations.
We do not promise that output is unique, free of third-party rights, or suitable for every intended use. You remain responsible for checking your inputs, the output, and any third-party licences before distribution. This does not exclude any rights or remedies that the law gives you.
Local storage and online processing
Keep exported backups of work you need to retain. Browser storage can be cleared by you, your browser, or your device. It is not a managed backup service. Uninstalling software or clearing site data may remove saved work.
The browser runs simulations locally, but features using server code generation send the relevant model and required source dependencies to our service. This can happen when preparing compiled simulations or other features, as well as when exporting code. The Privacy notice explains this processing. Avoid including unnecessary personal, confidential, or sensitive information in material sent online.
You are responsible for the devices, connectivity, permissions, and third-party services you use with Bloctric. If you connect an external assistant or tool, you control the access you give it and should review its terms and privacy arrangements.
Acceptable use and account security
You must not use Bloctric unlawfully, infringe others’ rights, introduce malicious code, interfere with other users, evade reasonable security or usage controls, or attempt unauthorised access to systems or data. Automated use must comply with published limits and must not disrupt the service.
Where accounts are provided, keep your login details secure, provide accurate account information, and tell us promptly about suspected unauthorised access. You are responsible for access you authorise; you are not automatically responsible for every unauthorised act merely because it involves your account.
Purchases and subscriptions
Paddle is the seller and merchant of record for paid subscriptions. Checkout identifies the Paddle entity selling to you and shows the price and renewal terms before you pay. Paddle’s buyer terms govern your purchase; these terms govern your use of Bloctric. Your statutory rights are unaffected.
Before you pay, checkout will show the included features, the total price including applicable taxes, the billing currency, the billing interval, any minimum commitment, and how to cancel.
A subscription renews for the billing period disclosed at checkout unless you cancel before the next renewal. No paid subscription starts merely because you use the free version. We will not convert a free trial into a paid plan without your informed agreement to the charge and renewal terms.
To stop future renewals, open Account → Plan and billing → Manage billing, then cancel in Paddle’s billing portal. You can also email [email protected]. We will honour a clear cancellation received before renewal even if we process it later. Cancellation normally leaves paid access in place until your paid-through date. Refunds and any earlier end of access are explained in the Refund policy.
If payment fails, we may ask you to update your payment details and may suspend paid access after reasonable notice. We will not charge undisclosed collection or reinstatement fees.
Changes and availability
We may make changes needed to fix defects, maintain security, meet legal requirements, or improve the service. We may also change free features on reasonable notice where practical. We do not promise uninterrupted availability, and maintenance or events outside our reasonable control may affect access. We will take reasonable steps to minimise disruption.
For a paid service, we will not materially reduce what you have already bought during the paid period without your agreement or an appropriate right to end the affected service and receive a refund for the unused period. Your statutory remedies remain available. If we permanently discontinue a prepaid service, we will refund the unused period.
We will give at least 30 days’ notice of a subscription price increase or other materially adverse contractual change, and it will apply no earlier than a renewal after that notice. You can cancel before it takes effect. Changes will not retrospectively reduce accrued rights or alter a completed purchase. A shorter notice period may be necessary for a legal or urgent security change; where this materially disadvantages you, you may end the affected paid service and receive an appropriate unused-period refund.
Suspension and ending the agreement
We may restrict access where reasonably necessary to address a material breach, a security threat, unlawful use, or unpaid charges. Where practical, we will explain the reason and give you a reasonable opportunity to put matters right. Immediate action may be needed to protect users or comply with law. Restrictions will be proportionate to the issue.
You can stop using the free service at any time and cancel a subscription as described above. If we end a paid service for our convenience, we will refund the unused prepaid period. Ending access does not automatically forfeit refunds due under this policy or the law. Any claim we have arising from your breach must be justified separately.
Ending this agreement does not remove rights or obligations that have already arisen, your rights in exported models, or the generated-code licence above.
Our responsibility to consumers
If you are a consumer, we are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breach of contract or failure to use reasonable care and skill. Loss is foreseeable if it is an obvious consequence or was contemplated by both parties when the contract was made. We are not responsible for loss that is not foreseeable.
Where defective digital content we supply damages your device or other digital content and this results from our failure to use reasonable care and skill, you may be entitled to repair or compensation. Nothing here removes applicable statutory remedies for faulty or misdescribed digital content or services. The business liability cap below does not apply to consumers.
Our responsibility to business customers
This section applies only to business customers and is subject to the non-excludable matters below. To the extent permitted by law, we exclude liability for indirect or consequential loss and for lost profit, revenue, anticipated savings, business opportunities, or goodwill arising from your business use.
Our total liability to a business customer arising from the agreement, whether in contract, delict, negligence, or otherwise, is limited to the greater of £100 and the fees paid or payable by you for the affected service, whether to us or an authorised seller, in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim. This limit is subject to applicable legal requirements of fairness and reasonableness. If your use requires a different allocation of risk, contact us before purchasing to discuss a separate agreement.
Matters we do not exclude
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, our lack of the legal right to supply digital content where liability cannot be limited, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. Nothing removes statutory consumer rights or remedies, or statutory rights to compensation under data protection law.
Complaints and applicable law
Contact [email protected] with a complaint and enough information for us to investigate. We aim to respond within five working days. If we cannot resolve a consumer complaint, we will provide information about any applicable alternative dispute resolution arrangement and whether we are required or willing to use it. You do not have to use an informal complaint process before exercising a legal right.
Scots law governs these terms. If you are a consumer, you retain the mandatory protections of the law of your habitual residence and may bring proceedings in any court that has jurisdiction under applicable consumer rules, including your local courts where those rules allow. We may bring proceedings against a consumer only where applicable law permits. For business customers, the Scottish courts have exclusive jurisdiction.
If a provision cannot be enforced, the remaining provisions continue so far as they can operate lawfully. A delay in enforcing a right does not waive it. We may transfer a paid agreement to a successor only where this does not reduce your protections; if it would materially disadvantage you, you may end it and receive an appropriate refund for the unused period. We will notify affected customers of any change of contracting operator.
